The Pleasant Hill Methodist church in Burton township and 72 square rods of land were ordered sold for 1000 dollars at private sale to the Burton Mission of the Mennonite Conference of Akron Pennsylvania. Proceeds go to several East Claridon Middlefield and Chardon Methodist churches after costs. The sale ratified follows merger related title changes in 1939. An auto collision on Claridon Troy Rd left the left side of Waldo Vaughn’s car and Peter Schlater’s left door badly damaged.

Chardon Boy Bitten by Dog During Street Crossing
Walter Leggett, 12, of 315 East King Street, was bitten on the right leg above the knee by a large black dog while crossing South Hampden Street from North Street last Tuesday. He received treatment at Corey Hospital and was later returned home. Police ordered the dog confined for 10 days. Walter is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Forrest Leggett.

Ola Crittenden Dies After Fall at Home in Middlefield
Mrs. Ola Jewett Crittenden, 76, died at a Cleveland hospital after injuries from a fall at her Middlefield home last Thursday. She leaves husband Thomas H. Crittenden and four children Lora Johnson, Carol Crittenden, Eileen Pawlowsky, Farra Burke, plus six grandchildren and siblings Iva Rose Effie Woodward and Orin Jewitt. She never regained consciousness.
