Airman Third Class Charles F Peters 19 of Chardon arrived in Korea after ten months service. Free Movie and Gift At Chardon Jubilee Next Tuesday

Geauga County to field 11 man football league

The Geauga County football league will start this fall with 11 man football. Participating schools include Bainbridge West Geauga Newbury Burton Middlefield. Auburn and Thompson have not yet decided their placement. Association officers are Al Jordak president Webb Miller vice president and Denver Jiiden secretary.

Tour of Don and Anna Husted Memorial Forest Saturday

A county forest tour will be held on Saturday April 26 at 1 00 in the Don and Anna Husted Memorial Forest located about 2 12 miles south of Auburn corners on route 44. The public is invited and 250 pines will be planted by youth groups as a demonstration Christmas tree planting. Parking is at Kauffman farms Ernest Hall or Rudy Neighbor residences. The Memorial was dedicated in January by the County Commissioners to Geauga County youth for teaching woodland management and conservation. April is Conservation Month and the county 4 H Junior Leadership club sponsors the planting and tour.

Hambden PTA Plans First Aid Class

Chardon Schools Face Crowding as Seniors and First Graders Grow

A 1948 plan calls for an assembly room and utility wing to ease overcrowding in Chardon schools. With 110 new first graders and 40 seniors this year, the district warns that high school classes will double in two to three years unless new space is built. The proposal aims to provide space for band practice assemblies physical education and visual aids while enabling expansion at the new site.
