Geauga theatre owner Carl Brinkman to host a free admission event at the Chardon Jubilee with a $100 cash prize first. Retail board allows merchants to pay out prizes and collect receipts. merchants cannot win. Eagles Choose Officers for Coming Year

Geauga Aerie of the Fraternal Order of Eagles elected new officers for 1952 53 with John L Leyde as president and Charles H Chapman as vice president. Alfred Randles continues as trustee for one year and Frank Krockett remains a one year trustee. The group marks its 54th anniversary and Geauga Aerie’s 15th founding anniversary approaches May 28.

Legion District Conference Held In Chardon Sunday

The Ninth District American Legion conference takes place in Chardon on Sunday April 20 with a 10 am post commanders breakfast and a 12 noon dinner in the school cafeteria hosted by the Crescendo club. Memorial Hall hosts the 1 pm meeting with Carlton E Lowe as Welcome speaker and Pete De Wesse of Columbus delivering the principal address.

Geauga County Red Cross hits goal and blood drive totals

Geauga County chapter reports reaching its Red Cross tornado relief goal of 700 dollars by drawing 600 from county reserves and 25 from each of four branches Auburn Burton Middlefield Newbury. Blood program totals 623 pints with 99 used locally and 250 for the armed forces, eight at Corey Hospital and 91 to Geauga citizens.

Chester Grange promotes soil conservation essay contest

Court reverses Kiwanis Lake incorporation ruling

The Court of Appeals reversed a Geauga County Common Pleas ruling denying an injunction against incorporating Kiwanis Lake. It affirmed the injunction, ruling the incorporation not right or equitable, and made the injunction permanent after county commissioners by petition of Kiwanis Lake residents had approved incorporation.
