Alvin M West tours Garland on business to promote Bear River Valley. The card extols Bear River Valley lies 25 miles north of Ogden Utah at 4200 feet with three railroads. Irrigation from Utah Idaho Sugar Co waters 50 000 acres of fruit grain alfalfa potatoes and sugar beets. Crops like apples peaches oats barley wheat potatoes shown with high yields. The valley hosts a German colony natives and others with tele phones mail service schools and churches. A sugar beet industry with branches supports transport to markets Pacific coast and Chicago.
River Valley asks Commercial Club and signer to obtain postal cards from Mr Weat and send them east or west. The text praises the postal cards as the best boosters seen recently. It cites B. H. Roberst and a Deseret Evening News editorial questioning Matthew W. Dalton’s sphere theory and argues the Ten Tribes are scattered and will be gathered to Zion, not in the north.
