Decoration Day Program in Garland City
Decoration day events begin Monday May 30 at 10 a m in Garland hall under M I associations with choir singing prayer by Chaplain Grover an oration by President Welling and various solos readings and speeches. After the program a cemetery clean up and grave decoration will take place followed by a procession to the city cemetery. An evening hall gathering will raise funds to fence the cemetery.

Halley's Comet and Moon Eclipse Draw Local Attention
The Cambridge Observatory notes Halley's comet is growing a new tail possibly reaching 14,000,000 miles by its next appearance in 75 years. A total lunar eclipse Monday night captivated many residents though clouds limited the comet's visibility. Darkening began about 8:30 p m with the eclipse from 9:55 to 10:45 and ending near 11:55.
