The Salt Lake Commercial Club with about 200 members and a band visits this city on May 20 morning. The special train reaches the depot at 8:30 and the Town Board plus citizens and the Military Band greet the party and escort them to Garland hall for speeches and music. The club tours next to Tremonton Brigham Collinston and Logan.

An enthusiastic meeting at the Tithing office organized the Garland Military Band with David Dorton president and Jos H Wallis secretary. Instruments are in poor condition and new ones are needed. some suits are missing. Invitations were extended to East Garland's Military Band to join rehearsals. first practice set for Garland hall next Tuesday night.
Miss Annie Wilcox, Mr. Merrille Evans, Mr. Farran Manausa and Mr. LeRoy Manning are the eight grade graduates who passed the exam. Principal W. M. Lillywhite says the four stayed to finish and more could have joined them. Commencement in Brigham City on Friday night May 13.

A. J. Vance and other R M B Tel Co officials met Garland Town Board on Monday and Tuesday to plan removing center street telephone poles. Poles at Main and Factory will be moved closer to the sidewalk as sidewalks on Factory street are widened, improving pedestrian access on a key corner. Hurrah they say the town moves forward.
A letter from a parent corrects a Garland Globe April 23 1910 item. It states Will Thornton was fined 1000 dollars and jailed one year in Bingham County County Jail not Federal prison. The writer accuses T L Snook of falsehood and meddling.

An old advertisement touts Dr. King’s New Life Pills as a remedy for liver trouble. It claims the pills produce rich red blood, clear skin, rosy cheeks, and a healthy complexion. Sold for a quarter at all druggists.
The Bear River Sunday School Dramatic Association presented Jack O Diamonds in Fielding last Friday night. The crowd turnout was strong and the performance was well received with the visiting company pleased by the reception in our sister town on the north.
Misses Sadie Orwin and Hilda Nelson hosted Garland School pupils with ice cream and cake. Later associate teachers joined and shared the refreshments in the event.
The Ladies' Self-Culture Club met at Mrs Lucy A Clark's farm home with 18 members present plus guests Lorelda Capener Martha Brough Etta Coles Nola Coombs and Ella Hudson. Membership increased from 30 to 50 and new members welcomed including Lorelda Capener Violet Wing Meda Gleason Leva Longstroth Marion Francke Josephine Harris Elizabeth Rich Hilda Conder Emma Cutler LaVon Smith Mayme Shumway Essie Barber Julia Strong. Pearl B Foulger Lottie B Smith and Bertha Campbell tasked with organizing programs for the next five meetings and members must notify the hostess if unable to attend. Refreshments were served and the group adjourned for two weeks to meet at Mrs Annie Munns.
Supt. T. H. Edwards returned from Colorado after visiting ten Great Western Sugar Co. factories. He found conditions favorable and noted weather in the region with rain on April 29 and snow in Denver. He met W. L. Lawson, former Garland factory chemist, now general manager of Stirling Brush and Ft Morgan factories, and was accompanied by R. Stock and Walter Stemmil and wife of the Sugar City Idaho plant.
Dr J T Miller of Salt Lake City editor of the Character Builder spent a week in the Bear River Stake lecturing to mothers at Relief Society meetings and to fathers and young men in evening sessions. He covered words Fielding Plymouth Bothwell Thatcher and Garland with audiences large and attentive. He plans a public lecture May 15 in Tremonton and future talks in Elwood Deweyville East Garland and Wateriah as part of a program promoting physical social intellectual moral and spiritual betterment.
