Local fans buzz about forming Boxelder Co Base Ball League with Garland Tremont Brigham Willard and other towns. Organizers urged to meet, appoint delegates, draft by laws, choose officers, and set a county-wide schedule to foster top quality ball and compete for a pennant.
Our band boys have played nightly for a month in the Clayton House upper room, filling the air with music that pleases us. The crowd urges them to keep up the good work with the Garland Hand and latest pieces, promising passersby will enjoy listening briefly.
The Amusement Hall is under improvements with 4 fash by the wally and new scenery to be added by T H Edwards who has theater experience. He will oversee painting and a full set of new plays ordered. Home productions are favored over visiting shows as the town boasts talent and a local troupe will be formed.

The Morgan Mirror and Mountain Republican report a push to form commercial clubs in Morgan and Bountiful. Local leaders emphasize building up towns through organized business interests. In Morgan a group aims to establish a modern opera house and other improvements. In Bountiful, a committee drafted by laws and will name the group the Bountiful Commercial Club with a planned $20,000 building and upper rooms for the club.
The Hox Eider News reports WW Kearny editor of Lowry City Missouri endorses Chamberlain's Cough Remedy for immediate use against colds and croup. It emphasizes keeping the medicine on hand to shorten illness and prevent croup, with local agents listed for sale. The item also notes visitors to Mrs M E Campbell in the city and mentions several local names.
Town Board met Tuesday with all members present except Prost and Rowe. They accepted Garland Club Saloon bond with additions to be secured by the Marshal before delivery. Clerk to issue a 400 warrant to Sault Lake Hardware Co. as part payment for jail cells. Reports read and held over for blanks and proper blacks. A loan for building jail cells discussed, sidewalk ordinance favored but held open. Appointments postponed to next meeting. Adjourned to March 13.

Peter Lott, a Lehi pioneer, died at midnight March 3 at age 68 after a lingering illness. He leaves four children from a nine member family. Except for 12 years at Beaver, he lived in Lehi since 1850. Funeral services will be held at the first ward meetinghouse on Sunday at noon.
Our local depot agent N W Parker bade farewell and left with his family for Preston Idaho to take the agency there. He is remembered by many friends who regret his departure. Scofield of Missouri Pacific is appointed to succeed Mr Walker as local agent at the depot there.

Howard E B Driggs of Pleasant Grove won an oratorical contest among competitors from six states on Febru ary 2 with The Inner Light of Americanism as the topic. The win earns him school representation at the Northern Oratorical League contest on May 1. Horace Secrist of Farmington, UW Madison student, also won at his school and will join the same competition. Secrist is T B Secrist’s brother in this city.
