Wheat crop dismal in west, bountiful elsewhere in Kansas

In central Kansas Randy Fritzemeier reports 50 to 60 bushels per acre on 1,300 acres with high test weights, while drought devastates western Kansas where Gary Millershaski fears 15 to 20 bushels per acre on 2,800 acres. Subsoil moisture is critically low across much of the state, and custom harvesters expect reduced work as drought drives harvest patterns.
