Three Sunflower lines fault caused wide outage in Kansas
A Friday power outage that hit Finney County and parts of Kearny and Gray counties lasted about two hours after three Sunflower Electric high voltage transmission lines were damaged in Thursday night storms. Garden City Holcomb and Deerfield lost power around 11:15 a.m. and restoration occurred by 1 p.m. Officials attributed the outage to a rare three-line failure, noting one line was broken by a pole damage and the others weakened by the storm.
