Weekend storms bring rain to Garden City area
Weekend storms provided relief from dryness with rainfall totals across the region. Garden City Regional Airport logged 0.95 inches, Kalvesta area 1.89 inches, Holcomb 1.10, Ingalls 1.70, Deerfield vicinity 0.33, Jetmore area 0.54, Lakin nearby 0.90, Montezuma 1.51, and Cimarron 0.77 inches. By 10 p.m. Sunday showers continued with 0.49 inches at the Garden City airport. Meteorologist Jesse Lee noted quick-moving Sunday storms limit rain to under an inch for the airport. Through Sunday 6 p.m. total since January 1 stood at 2.86 inches, 5.92 inches below normal.

Brownback vetoes Corrections budget in 2015 clash
