Funding pressures loom for FCEDC long term budget
Finney County Economic Development Corp faces shrinking cash reserves with end of year projections near 50 000. Board members asked city commissioners for a 2013 budget of 325 700 with 94 000 from the city and 129 000 from Finney County plus funds from GCCC and Holcomb. They cited legal fees from county land purchase and ongoing projects as reserves dwindle. The group discussed potential sales tax funding in the future but said it is not yet ripe. Downtown Vision requests 60 000 for 2013 to support a 121 035 budget, with Garden City having funded 55 000 since 2007. City to review both requests for the 2018 budget later this summer.
