Kansas faces major cuts to Children's Cabinet grants
Kansas will absorb about 83 million dollars in cuts to the Kansas Children’s Cabinet funding from the 1998 master settlement. The reductions, part of 97 million dollars in state agency cuts announced by Gov. Brownback, threaten preschools and all day programs. Coffeyville USD 445 warns of a 140,000 dollar reduction before new preschool rooms open, risking staff and services for families.
