Horses help teach juvenile offenders at ranch
In Wichita the Sedgwick County Commission donated Kid, a 5-year-old quarter horse, to the Judge James V. Riddel Boys Ranch to teach responsibility. Staff note horses foster discipline and social skills among 17 of 49 at the facility, with youths like 17-year-old Adam and Taylor benefiting through chores, schooling, and supervised rides.
