Garden City commissioners unanimously denied a FedEx regional distribution center proposal that would have cost about 1.14 million dollars in infrastructure and city subsidies. They cited tight budgets and uncertain long term value, though some officials noted potential airport traffic gains and regional benefits.
City Manager Bob Halloran told Garden City commissioners in October not to allot money for his annual pay raise. The memo urged evaluating his performance to decide whether to contract with him each year as budget pressures continue.
