Erskin Pleads Guilty in Kansas Medical case and Campaign History
Erskin pled guilty to clinic Botox injections from 2013 to 2015. In June a Finney County judge ordered him to stop practicing as a physician assistant in Kansas while a lawsuit proceeds. He had filed to run against John Wheeler in the 123rd District House race but terminated his campaign before the August 2 primary. Wheeler won the primary and later the seat unopposed in the general. Erskin has prior legal trouble including a 2009 arrest, a 2010 felony conviction, and a 2012 license suspension for failing to disclose the arrest. He served in the US Air Force and later became campus dean at NAU Garden City Community College in 2014, not employed since May.

Osawatomie State Hospital worker sues Kansas over assault safety lapses
A worker at Osawatomie State Hospital sues Kansas alleging she was raped by a patient and that staff should have known the attacker had a history of violence. The suit cites missing 10 minute safety rounds, unmonitored cameras, and prior sexual hostility as factors. Police say the 2015 attack preceded a federal decertification move costing about $8 million in funding.

Kansas moves to reduce funding for residential psychiatric care for children, raising concerns from providers and advocates that some facilities may close and fewer children will receive care. Revenue Kansas narrowly meets mark
The October monthly report shows Kansas state government missing the revenue projection by 12 million, with most shortfall in retail sales and corporate taxes. The treasury had higher than planned individual income tax deposits, while officials remained concerned by a national downturn in corporate and sales receipts. September collections fell 45 million short of April projections.
