Space project eyed for western Kansas by 400 scientists
Western Kansas could host a 200 million Auger North project spanning three counties and eastern Colorado. State Sen. Steve Morris and WSU physicist Nick Solomey say the plan would draw 400 scientists, support a visitor center, and create jobs while exposing students to advanced science. The concept hinges on building a 12 by 12 foot water tank array to detect ultra high energy cosmic particles.
