Garden City High School project sails ahead of schedule
The Garden City High School construction, a $92.5 million USD 457 project, is over a quarter complete and under budget. Adolfson & Peterson reps told the USD 457 Board that underground utilities and parking for about 750 cars near Campus Drive and Mary Street are largely done, four to five weeks ahead. About $18 million of work has been completed since ground was broken last fall, with four of roughly ten linking structures well developed.

Severe thunderstorm leaves city with roof, fence damage
Heavy rain and high winds exceed 60 mph, up to 76 mph, damaging the roof of Crop Production Services at 2118 W. Mary St and a chain link fence at AmeriCold Logistics. NW part of town bore the brunt as wind also shattered car windows, toppled a semitrailer on East U.S. 50, and prompted no reported injuries. Rain totals ranged from about 0.49 to 1.5 inches across multiple counties, with no injuries reported.
