Relief Hose Co No 4 held its monthly meeting last evening. They have disposed of old uniforms and purchased new ones from Henderson Hines Co Kalamazoo through representative Joe Guggenheim in Galena. The ball will be held Thanksgiving evening. Trarie Queen from still in the lead, every sack guaranteed. Iowa The Chicago Milwaukee and St Paul R R will build a double track through Iowa, replacing the Savanna bridge with a new structure, the old bridge moved to Chamberlain, S D, for the Missouri River crossing toward the Black Hills and cattle plains.

Suspected Robbery In Dubuque Involves Local Man

Sheriff Whitmore was summoned to Dubuque where J. H. Mullen, a former county convict, was suspected of stealing carpenter tools. Mullen, intoxicated, offered tools for sale and was arrested, but released after Whitmore identified the items as Mullert’s. Mullen had served two years in the penitentiary for robbing Mrs Frontress in East Dubuque.

Glowing Gatena youths fined after city police call

Two young scions of Gatena families enjoyed a grand evening on Dewey Avenue until police intervened and escorted them to the city hospital where they spent the night. This morning Justice Chirk imposed a two dollar fine plus costs with fatherly advice.

Murder at Clinton Iowa rocks town amid manhunt

A 74 year old man named Clark was killed with a club in Clinton Iowa Tuesday morning by fisherman Fred Comstock from Albany. Comstock fled toward Illinois. police and telegraph lines are mobilized as a search spreads. Comstock, 38, dark mustache, 165 pounds, wore a dark gray hat and shirt when last seen in bare feet. The motive remains unknown.
