Cattle Slaughtered in Record Tuberculosis Cull Near Blanchardville

State Veterinarian E. D. Roberts shot sixty nine cattle infected with tuberculosis on George Legler's farm near Blanchardville. Assisted by Dr. George Noble, with Fred Marty recording health data. Cattle buried in a large ditch after a daylong operation witnessed by over two hundred. Further notes include a 1905 Illinois Holiness camp meeting at Freeport and Illinois Central excursion fares from Galena to Denver and nearby destinations.

A BAD MIXUP AT KUCHENMAN FARM ENDS IN WRECK

Ernest Hinz cattle dealer and butcher returns to his place of business after several bruises from an accident on the Kuchemann farm. His vehicle overturned when it struck a brush heap, the team bolted into a wire fence, leaving Hinz battered but recovering at home then at work.

Funeral of Mrs. John Schunler Held at St Marys

The funeral service for the late Mrs. John Schunler occurred Saturday morning at nine o'clock from St Marys Catholic Church. Rev Wm Bally conducted a high mass of requiem. Pallbearers included Herman Paar Joseph Kern Thomas Kohlbaur Matthew Becker Adam Nack and Paul Nellis. Interment followed at German Catholic Cemetery.

Miss Maggie Horton and Miss Anna Dwyer leave Wednesday for New York and sail soon after for a two month visit to the Emerald Isle. Rain Saturday did not affect trade as merchants report brisk business all day. A large quantity of garden produce was sold at fair prices. John Engels of the Standard Cigar Co. returned Friday from Wisconsin after a successful week where the Standard cigar is very popular and sales are described as phenomenal.
