Mrs Schunder widow of John Schunder passed peacefully at home in School Section early Friday after a long illness from dropsy and age. A German native who lived here fifty years, she and husband of fifty four years shared a golden wedding four years ago. Surviving children include Mrs Edward Paar Mrs Chris Bauer of Galena Joseph Sehunder Hartsville Mass John Sehunder Savanna Mrs Joseph Dusheek and Mrs Fred Steirman Dubuque. Funeral at St Marys Catholic church Saturday at nine with high mass. Burial in St Marys German Catholic cemetery.

Koempel Lehman Nuptials Quiet Ceremony in Sumner Street Home

Miss Emma Koempel and Mr Will Lehman of Dubuque were married Thursday evening at the Koempel home on Sumner Street with Rev John Vande Erve officiating. Best man Julius Koempel and sister Henrietta attended. A wedding supper followed and the couple will live in Dubuque where Lehman is an engineer at the Excelsior Factory, after a brief visit in Galena.

Tyrrel conservator case in county court continues

The Tyrrel conservator case was resumed Friday in county court with witness examinations and the jury, after dinner, had not reached a verdict by 3 PM. Herman Tyrrel of Stockton seeks removal of the conservator over him for four years to marry and manage about six hundred dollars of his own property. The jury still unsolved at four o clock.

A new heavy freight engine on the Burlington passed Galena Junction Wednesday morning pulling a 75 car coal and steel train bound for St Paul Minnesota. Two firemen fed the monster with coal as crews widen and elevate the Prairie du Chien to La Crosse track with a large work gang already at the site.
