Indeterminate sentence given in Habich house robbery case

In Jo Daviess County court William Meyers who pleaded guilty to the Habich house robbery was sentenced to an indeterminate term in the state penitentiary with a minimum of one year and maximum of twenty years to be set by the state board of pardons. Death in Menominee Township Natural Causes Verdict

Coroner's jury finds Henry Mackey died of natural causes between February 19 and March 7, 1905. The 58 year old wood chopper was found on Berger's Island in Menominee Township near George Wickman’s shanty, with no marks of violence and likely frozen after severe late February cold. He lived in Galena and is survived by two brothers, Joseph and Bernard Mackey.

Euchre Party at Feehan Hall Announces Winners

About twenty one tables were played at the Tuesday evening Club euchre party last night. Frank Burke won the head gents prize and Lawrence Dillon took the lone hand prize. Miss Barbara Stahl earned the head ladies prize and Miss Jennie Maguire won lone hand. Refreshments were served and all enjoyed the evening.
