Mining Prospects at Vinegar Hill Lead and Zinc Mines
C E Abbott of Hazel Green says Vinegar Hill mines are more prosperous than ever with the shaft at 95 feet and deeper development planned. Ore has been found below this depth and a strong water flow is managed by two 700 gallon per minute pumps. The Roe farm near Buncombe reports a rich ore deposit struck during Thursday drilling.

Promising ore strike near Hazel Green on Day farm
Hazel Green Wisconsin June 22. A striking discovery on T J Day’s farm one mile southeast of town finds ore at six feet depth in a ten o clock crevice. A half inch resin rack sheet lies west of this range with a two to four inch lead sheet crossing it. A four o clock network runs east west above and other strong ranges exist. Miners earlier quarried here sixty years ago but water halted deeper work. The Wonder Mining company on Richard Andrews’ land drills for jack and sinks a shaft with a promising prospect for lead and jack.
