A road contractor, George McGee of Perrysburg, died last Friday morning when a 1500 pound dipper broke loose from a plank while cleaning a stone pit near a new Detroit Toledo and Ironton railroad switch one mile south of Wauseon. Doctors Hartman and Campbell could not save him. he left a wife and one daughter.

Ministers Meet in Wauseon Backed Red Cross Welfare Plan
The Ministerial Union at Wauseon met October 27 in the M E Church to press cooperation for a yearround Red Cross Welfare Nurse. Judge Wolf chaired the local Red Cross chapter and ministers agreed to recruit county church support for a countywide membership drive and a future address by Dr Brewster of Cleveland. Big Dramatic Festival Dies As Result Of Burns
Mrs. Garret E. Hawley about 82 died from burns received while warming herself in a fire built in her Cedar Street home in Toledo. The tragedy occurred during the festival presentation of The Masquerader starring Guy Bates Post, noted as the season’s best offering. Funeral services were held at United Brethren church with interment in Wauseon cemetery.

Funeral in Morenci for George B. Oldfield with military honors
The body of George B. Oldfield arrived from France and was laid to rest in Wauseon after transfer from France. Gibbs Robinson Post and Wauseon Legion formed an escort to the cemetery as Rev S R Dunham preached at the Morenci Baptist Church. Oldfield leaves a widow, a father, a mother, and a sister. he died at thirty nine after a surgical operation.
