Saint Louis Stock Shipping Association Report

The stock shipping association reports April activity in nineteen Ohio counties with 2640 shipments totaling 21 555 hogs cattle and sheep weighing 78 943 pounds and netting $514 564.66 after expenses. Average freight cost about 2 cents per hundred pounds. $40 000 saved in April by shippers. Fallon County shipped three hogs, 220 head, weighing 44 740 pounds and netting $9719.71. Civil War Veteran Sheriff Mr Wm Sherer Passes Away

A Civil War veteran and former sheriff, Mr William Sherer of Wauseon, dies Sunday. He was a comrade of Lo Tar Geis and connected to Monroe Michigan through family ties. His body was moved Wednesday and funeral services were held under Post auspices in Edgar Wallickaero rooms on RY. A sketch of Sherer’s life appears next week.
