Farmers Question Highway Plans in Ohio Thaw Tests Costs

Grand Jury Indicts One in Secret Bill

The grand jury met last Saturday and returned one true bill, a secret indictment. No indictments were found against F R Harper B J Liccardi or Fred J Deutschman. The petit jury will reconvene in March with cases including John C Miley vs Geo B Allion in junction and equitable relief and Fleming and Hough vs Walter Waldock for money due.

Peck's Bad Boy to Headline Library Benefit at Princess Theatre

Jackie Coogan will star in Peck's Bad Boy at the Princess Theatre as a First National attraction. The library benefit runs Tuesday and Wednesday evenings March 21 and 22 with proceeds aiding the library. The beloved child actor, previously seen in August 1922, returns as a mischief making American boy in a new production featuring George FE. Gortuch.

Francis Roycroft Smallman Dies at 73 in Birmingham

Francis Roycroft Smallman born April 1 in Liverpool Ohio died March 14 1922 at his son Ralph’s home in Birmingham Alabama. He helped build Fulton County Courthouse Ottokee served as deputy sheriff and co founded The Peoples Bank in 1889 later its vice president. Survived by wife Consella Alcorn three sons Carl Ralph and Lloyd one grandchild Jane. He was a long time Mason.

Weight violators damage highway in Detroit driver case

Jimmie Graham of Detroit pled guilty in justice court to overloaded truck driving on a public road. The case revealed the truck belonged to a Detroit firm. Graham’s employer was ordered to cover road damages of 12 dollars while Graham paid a 50 dollar fine plus 5.70 costs. Detroit firm later sent a second truck to haul away the load.

Wauseon High School beat Bryan 17 to 9 in the early Civilian Rehabilitation tourney at Defiance, then Defiance 18 to 17 over Wauseon in a fast finishing game. The Defiance team captured the tournament. Wauseon failed to reach the finals.

Knights Of Pythias Lodge Cloaks Room Redesign

The club room opened Saturday night with a larger space after removing partitions and coal room elements. It received decorative touch ups, new floors, re-covered pool tables, extra card tables, and general cleaning by members who contributed labor and funds. Five candidates received the Knights Bank. Delta lodge hosted over 40 members and five visitors. Elly Buck of Fulton County, once a Fayette Normal student, died at about 60 in Lyons.
