Ditch Law Declared Unconstitutional by Court of Appeals

Watiseun Eigh Scho Basket Baltom Defeats Opponent 92 17

The Watiseun high school basketball team battled a strong opponent Friday and still won 92 to 17. The game was an uphill struggle but Watiseun held firm as the Mont peter team caused early trouble before Watiseun pulled away in the second half. The upcoming Defiance tournament on March 10 and 11 will feature the Woarcen High School basketball team among over five teams from Northwestern Ohio.

Destructible Fire Nearly Destroys J E Merrill House

Fire in basement of the J E Merrill residence on East Chestnut Street Friday night caused major damage before firemen controlled the blaze within an hour. John Johnson, away during the day, returned late to find shingles and wax fueling the fire as neighbors alerted authorities. Household goods and clothing were severely damaged. the Johnsons planned to move soon to Leipsic, Ohio for a new job.
