Jacob H. Hatt Honored in Death in Detroit Tribute

Detroit honor clip details Jacob Henry Hatt formerly of Wauseon Ohio, a central Paint and Glass manager, died after a sudden illness. The service at Euclid Avenue home was conducted by Rev. Thomas Jefferson Villers with Rotary and Elks members in attendance. Interment occurred at Wauseon Cemetery, with tributes from business associates and local lodges.

Service Flag Dedication At Christian Church

The Christian church Sunday held a Service Flag and Roll of Honor dedication postponed by weather. Miss Edna Baer and George Roos sang, Miss Edith Borford read, and Mrs W H pastor led the program. An offering for missionary work and church activities was taken. 16 stars on the flag represent those now in service, with a list beginning Howard Garrett in the church and Sunday school.

Local man nets first kingfish of season off Pass-a-Grille

Wauseon detective William F. Hubbell of Ohio, aboard Captain Woodward’s yacht Flaneur, landed the first kingfish of the season off Pass-a-Grille. The 11%-pound beauty marks Hubbell’s notable Gulf coast fishing debut and hints at future annual trips.

Sale for Red Cross benefit in Fulton County Ohio

A two year old colt donated by Frank News comer of Wauseon will be sold on Main Street in front of Peoples State Bank at 2 o clock on Saturday March 16. After the colt is disposed of a purebred pony eligible to registry will be auctioned. Proceeds go to the Fulton County Red Cross Society with thanks to donors including Mr News comer and Mr McLain. Soldier Life in France Two Wauseon Boys Win Honors

Two former Wauseon High School students earned prizes at Otterbein College for the Russell Prize Depeacashet Contest held February 28. Lloyd Harmon won first prize of 15 dollars, Catherine Ellsworth took second, and Lillian Coe third. Bryan Heise, another Wauseon graduate, was elected a representative of Ohio State University. A separate Fayette game raised 100 dollars for the Payette Branch Red Cross.
