New Laws for Protection of Children
Judge A M Barber hails new juvenile court laws backed by Rotary clubs. The first law lets judges declare crippled children wards of the court and place them with the State Board of Charities for up to a year of treatment in state hospitals, with costs billed to the child's home county. The second law requires adoptive parents to have the child in their home at least six months and mandates a court agent investigation before adoption.
