Baby monkey born in Wauseon named for town

A baby Rhesus monkey, born Monday evening July 4 in the tent of The 20 in one Side Show on South Fulton Street, is to be called Wauseon. Parents are Cappy the sire and Alice the dam from South America and the East Indies. The father’s nickname is Capital, tied to his birthplace, Indianapolis. The mother shows strong devotion to her infant as the town of Wauseon claims a unique kinship with this birth.

Pioneer Resident Elizabeth Scott Dies at 97 in Fulton County

Elizabeth Scott longtime Fulton County resident since 1863 died at her daughter’s home July 2 after a two week illness from an accidental injury. She would have turned 98 in September. Funeral services were held at Tedrow with Rev. Frank E. Kenyon officiating and interment in Wauseon cemetery. Obituary details to follow next Tribune. Faithful community servant H A Fauver dies at 76

H A Fauver son of Walter and Alzina Pauver born at Lo rain County Ohio on November 30 1844. He lived in Ridgeville Corners and near Wauseon where he farmed. He married Mary H Down in 1868 who died four years later and later Jennie Ockham in 1871. He taught Bible classes and led the Wauseon Bible class he organized. He was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church Grange and T O C Fiat Wauseon. He died June 27 1921 after long illness aged 76 years 6 months and 27 days leaving a widow three sons three brothers and seven grandchildren.

Monument Dedication Honors Fulton County Heroes

Thousands witness the unveiling of the Fulton County Soldiers and Sailors Monument in Wauseon on July 4 1921 marking a red letter day for Civil War veterans. The program included Army veterans, scouts, speeches by Comrade Longnecker and Hon. J M Murphy, and the grand unveiling by Miss Ide Griffin with tributes to the Boys in Blue.
