Death by Gasoline Fire Fatal for Charles Wilhelm
Charles Wilhelm aged about 24 died after a gasoline fire starting accident at the Greenleaf Farm near Wauseon. He poured gasoline from a can into a kerosene stove igniting his clothing and suffering fatal burns. He died Sunday at City Hospital after being taken there following the blast. Interment was in St. Caspar's Cemetery. The incident occurred Friday morning and friends recall a tragic error with a gasoline can left beside the stove.

Soldier's Birthday Comrades Honor Drummer Bayes at 67th Birthday
About twenty two comrades and members of the Woman's Relief Corps gathered at P H Bayes home to celebrate the 67th anniversary of Comrade Phil H Bayes born 1863 at age fifteen. The event featured a dinner, tributes by Kenyon and John C Rorick, a recitation by Mrs Jane Stevens, and speeches from S A Ler. Bayes enlisted in 1863, serving in Company H 86th Ohio Volunteer Infantry, and was held in high esteem at Losure Post.

Passing of a Pioneer Mrs Mary B C Howard
Mrs Mary B C Howard died at her time in Winameg on Sunday morning January 30 following a short illness of under two weeks. She spent winters in Winameg on Prospects Street and summers with her family amid mementos of the gone and her grandchildren. Her long residence linked her to the years in the region and to the Howard family home in Winameg where she taught and supported community efforts with her husband W H Howard sharing years of service.
