Ottokee Grange marks the 42nd anniversary with a Saturday December 11 all day event. A new slate of officers will be announced and a luncheon hosted by Mrs. Dora Eweta and Mrs. Edna Orth.
Government crop and livestock report for Ohio compares 1915 results with 1914. It notes higher overall crop value, lower December prices, increased corn acreage by 275,630 acres with an estimated 87 bushels per acre, larger apple crop, and varied hog cholera prevalence across counties. Cattle, tobacco, and clover figures are included with regional disease patterns and prices for wheat, corn, barley, potatoes, hay, and alfalfa.
A community Christmas tree event in Falton Street near the Arcade Building features carols sung by school children, a lighting ceremony at 8 15 pm, and a short program including a mayoral address. Attendees are urged to bundle warmly and join in nightly through New Years.
The Thorton Silo and Lenk Company reorganizes as The Ohio Cement Stave Silo Company with a $20 000 capital to expand output and improve organization. Principal stockholders are W C Fink J K Campbell and Frank S Ham. Officers named include President S B McLain Secretary and Towers W C Fink Sales Manager C E Rossman and Fink Campbell and Ham Executive Committee.
Revival meetings in Wauseon Ohio opened Monday evening December 20 at the Church of the Brethren led by Rev. David R McFadden of Smithville. Reminders of themes include Characteristics of a Righteous Character and Hell the Devil and Salvation. Services begin 7 30 each evening with special songs and invitations for families to attend.
Probate and guardianship actions dominate the list with final accounts approved in Jacob Hablutzel and Marquis D Osgood estates while Jacob Fagley and others receive letters of administration. Real estate transfers include several deeds to George T. Santee, Milton Fortney and others, with several estates awaiting hearings and notices issued.
The United States Civil Service Commission announces a rural carrier examination for Fulton County Ohio to be held at Wauseon on January 22 1916 to fill a Swanton rural carrier position and future vacancies on rural routes. Open to male citizens domiciled in the county post office territory who meet Form 1977 requirements. Applications should be sent to the Commission in Washington at the earliest practicable date.
