Archbold Edges Wauseon In Tight 17 16 High School Match

Archbold rallied from five points down to defeat Wauseon 17 to 16 in a fast paced high school game. Wauseon led late, but Archbold scored three quick goals to seal the win as players like Tedrow and Schad starred for Wauseon. The Wauseon seconds also beat Archbold seconds 18 to 8 after overtime.

Longtime Delta Resident Israel Salsberry Dies

Israel A Salsberry aged 72 of Delta Ohio died December 12 1919 at home near Greenlawn Cemetery Delta He enlisted as a Civil War volunteer and married Orpha Belle Draper They left two children Dr G R Luis Lyons Ohio and Mrs Mary Rex Austen Ohio and a foster son Neue Warwick Mishawaka Ind Surviving relatives include two foster children and numerous old pupils who mourn his loss Funeral services were held December 15 at the Delta Christian church and he was interred at Greenlawn Cemetery Delta We thank friends for help and express appreciation to the Old Fellows Lodge and Rev Perry for comfort and song

Last Council Meeting of Year 1919 Recaps Fees and Ends Term

The 1919 council meeting approved minutes and heard requests to cut trees on a boulevard, and a canopy over a sidewalk in Commercial Street. A fire department wiring permit was granted. A dispute over lights and fuel for City Hall led to a 3 to 2 vote preserving free lights and fuel for firemen. The salary ordinance passed and the meeting adjourned to January 4 1920 to begin the new city government. Mrs Julia Miller longtime Fulton County resident died aged 82 in Elkhart Indiana and was buried in Wauseon. Photograph and full obituary note included.

Weekday Religious Instruction Endorsed by Wauseon Club

Rev C F Evans presented the movement for Weekday Religious Instruction to the Tuesday Club and it received unanimous endorsement. The plan aims to adapt to local conditions and requires parental written permits. funding is voluntary. An organizing committee seeks citizen endorsement as the Congregational Church outlines upcoming services and a Christmas program.
