Fulton County Exemption Board nears finish of draft work
Fulton County draft officials report nearing end of processing for the 1918 draft. Of 142 men examined, 46 were exempted, 43 certified for service, and 119 called to the local board as subject to call. The first 30 percent will depart to Chillicothe in the coming days, led by Otto Funkhouser and Robert Bissonette as sergeants, with subsequent increments following on a fixed schedule.

Fatal Auto Crash Kills Farmer and Five Children
In York township, 40 year old Frank Gineman died when his car veered into an eight foot ditch near Center. His wife and five children survived with a broken arm to one girl. The wreck was towed to the Wauseon Garage. Funeral services were held at St Caspar’s Church with interment in St Caspar’s Cemetery. The community extends sympathy to Mrs Gineman and her children.
