William Volmer of Wauseon Dies After Long Illness
George J. Volmer a longtime Wauseon merchant and civic figure died Monday evening August 22 1920 after a yearlong illness in Ann Arbor Michigan. He was born August 17 1862 at Tubingen and came to the United States in 1881 settling in Wauseon where he spent most of his career in dry goods and retail trade. He was a member of several fraternal orders including Wauseon Lodge 249 A M and Knights of Pythias and leaves a widow Emma and children Carl Harry Bertha Frieda two grandsons John and James plus a sister Rosa and a brother Casper. Burial was in Wauseon cemetery.
