Poultry calling demonstrations urge culling to boost Fulton County farms

Fulton County runs poultry calling demonstrations in townships led by B L Dakan of Ohio State University. About 590 people attended across 200 flocks totaling 29 000 hens. Experts say over half the hens are unprofitable and should be culled, saving feed costs. If the county census supports it, 850 000 hens may be kept, underscoring the need for systematic culling to improve flocks and rival dairy herd gains. The piece also lists church notices for Methodist services and thanks for funeral support.
