Ten Years Lighting Contract Sways Village

The Village Council approves a ten year lighting contract with a fluctuating total cost of about 4165.00 annually, funded by local revenue and railroad payments, with a minimum possible outlay of 3600 in emergencies and a plan to keep lamps burning via citizen cooperation and prompt reporting of outages. An expert engineer reviewed terms as the Williams company contract expired last February.

Fulton County Teachers Institute at Wauseon High School

The Fulton County Teachers Association holds its annual institute next week at Wauseon High School with C. L. Warren of Elmira as principal instructor. The program runs daily from Monday to Friday with lectures, departmental meetings, rural school conferences, and an Friday boards of education session. Fulton County Council Allocates Funds for Soldier Memorial

County commissioners approved a 1500 grant to the Fulton County Soldiers and Sailors Memorial and Monument Association to aid in erecting a county memorial. With subscriptions, the total raised will near 3700 dollars, enabling the monument project on county property before dedication.

Fulton’s Wheat Record Shatters World Benchmark

Toledo Times reports W L Biddle’s Fulton county farm set a new wheat yield world record at 58 82 125 bushels per acre, surpassing Dewey Haines of Arcanum. Thomas Gorsuch is noted for a 50 bushels per acre achievement. Fashbaugh threshing 450 bushels of No 6 wheat from nine acres adds to county pride and queries land impoverishment. Primary election set for August 10 in Wauseon with polls 5:30 am to 5:20 pm.

Auto Accident On Fulton Street Injures Wauseon Man

A daylight collision on Fulton Street involved Webster Stough, who bicycled north on Felton Street when a pedestrian on the sidewalk diverted his attention. He struck an auto, suffering a severe wound, arm cuts, and leg bruises. the driver fled no payment offered. Dr. Darby treated him. Stough charged the auto with driving mid-street without warning. An obituary follows for Abigail Barber born 1830 in New York died Brailey aged 85. Card of Thanks from the Arnsbarger family supports thanks for support.

Rural Egg Company Burglary Leads to Suspect Arrest

Herbert McNichol of Chicago burglarized the Rural Eye Company on East Oak street, stealing about 28.61 dollars in premiums. He was captured at Chas Grisier’s garage after townspeople alerted the Sheriff. McNichol pled guilty and was bound over to the October term of Common Pleas Court.
