Conference of governors and attorney generals met to discuss the trust question in St Louis. Resolutions committee struggled to reconcile views past midnight. A subcommittee continued work at convening session while a recess was taken. McMillin presented the committee report and urged adoption of resolutions.
Omaha reports the Republican state convention met at 2 pm to nominate a supreme judge and two university regents. Judge M. B. Reese, former supreme court member, seems headed for the ticket. Judge Relvis chosen temporary chairman and the platform backs the national administration, money standard, and anti trade organization measures. Boston notes the Democratic state convention nominated governors candidates and delegates, endorsing East Dem policies and McKinley Philippines stance. Robert Treat Paine Jr. of Boston was nominated governor by acclamation.
Chicago September 21 a board of trade firm Bar rett Farnum & Co failed today. The house was heavily short of wheat with losses estimated from four to five million bushels of the December option. The firm sold heavily over the past three days hoping the New York stock panic would bear the market.
Des Moines area mothers honored the East Iowa regiment's Manila voyage by raising two hundred flags over homes. The flags will remain until the transport reaches San Francisco, in accordance with a Mothers Association resolution.
In Dixon a large turnout gathered for the northern Illinois soldiers and sailors reunion. Captain I C Bardwell gave the welcome, with Colonel B F Sheets and Congressman R R Hitt also speaking. General John C Black was reported detain ed at home by illness as the campfire program featured brief remarks from multiple officers and dignitaries.
The report notes no material change in the Transvaal situation as peace talks proceed. Both sides express a desire for peace while continuing war preparations.
In Victor British Columbia on Sept 21 Special report says Peter Jackson the colored boxer is ill with pneumonia and feared not to recover. The notice notes his illness and serious condition.

Sugsouse New York September 21 Henry Y Johnson mayor of Denver was elected president of the League of American Municipalities in a special meeting.
Late foreign news received by cable reports Krav Eng says a czarina and czar arrived. In France Dreyfus arrived this morning and went to the home of Valabregue, a relative.
Detroit Sept 21 Special The Odd Fellows Sovereign Lodge indefinitely postponed acting on a resolution allowing five civilized Indian tribes in Indian Territory to become members if they had no negro blood. A measure to pay Sovereign Grand Lodge representatives only actual travel expenses instead of 10 and 12 cents a mile also failed.
In Norfoik Virginia on September 21 a special report states three bodies were recovered from the hospital ruins this afternoon and remain unidentified. Fireman Barrett who was injured during the blaze died later today.
Washington dispatch reports Otis informed the War Department that mail sent by the transport Morgan City was lost in the wreck of that vessel. A special despatch notes the mishap and the missing mail from the ship.
Poe John Horget, a millionaire distiller living in Perin Illinois, died today. The death starkly reduces a noted business figure whose fortune and influence were tied to the local industry. The report notes his prominence and wealth in the community.
Louis Voight left for New York City to resume medical studies and was bid a farewell by his sister Isabel and a lively group. Last evening a pumpkin pie social hosted by Walter Spitler and Embury Sunday school members drew a large crowd. Guests enjoyed generous portions of pie and the event fostered fellowship among attendees.
