Old German immigrant burned to death near Everts

An 80 year old man named Wunephe died after his clothing caught fire while burning brush near a clover patch south of Everts in Ridott Township Illinois. Neighbors arrived too late to save him and officials attributed death to suffocation from the flames. He and his wife recently moved from Germany to Ridott township living with his son.
