Convention Closed by Home and Foreign Missionary Societies

The district joint meeting at Polo closed with talks by Mrs Bailess and Miss Fowler on home and Mercy home work. Officers were elected for both Home and Foreign societies, with Freeport and Polo residents holding key posts. Invitations for next year’s meeting were received from Mt Morris Warren and Embury church, Freeport, decision pending.

Farmer Reed Drops Dead Near Roox City

Charles Reed, 66, long time sheep rancher and war veteran, was found dead in a lane near his home at 12:30 a.m. from heart failure after hearing a noise he feared might be dogs. He resided near Roox City and passed peacefully after a quiet life.
