N K Lillibridge, a piano tuner, filed for 5000 damages against Mrs Chandler Starr of Rockford Illinois, former president of the Mendelssohn club, alleging tampering with pianos before a club recital. Starr is also a member of the Amateur club of Chicago.

George Matthews who shot and killed James Irwin at Allens in Charles county last August was hanged here this morning in La Plata Maryland. The execution followed his conviction for the crime and occurred in the early hours today.

Arthur Mayhew, a negro, was electrocuted in prison for the murder of Stephen Powell, a Hempstead, Long Island resident. As the chair was set, Mayhew cried that he died an innocent man and accused John Waynes and Frank Albertson, though Albertson had not previously been linked to the crime and lawyers fear Mayhew may have mistaken him for Albertson.
FRANKFORT KY Governor Bradly refused to grant Scott Jackson's clemency appeal. Jackson will be executed by hanging on March 20.
A social gathering at Masonic hall hosted by Excelsior lodge of Masons featured Gib ler's orchestra, dancing, and cards. A swell banquet by McHenry's restaurant followed in the banquet hall.
