Prominent Illinois Central engineer Ralph Leslie died at St Francis hospital at 7 10 am after four weeks illness typhoid fever caused death He was born Freeport 1876 and married Stella Little in 1904 Survived by parents a sister and wife funeral at Embury church conducted by Rev E B McKay then interment at German Catholic cemetery.

Death of Freeport resident John W. Nehus

John W. Nehus of Freeport died at St Francis hospital following an eight day struggle with typhoid fever. Born in Leer Germany on July 7 1859 he came to this country as a boy with family and settled in Freeport where he lived forty years. He passed away at 7:50 p.m. last night after hospitalization.

B. and O. to Install City Ice Plant

The B and O brewery has contracted for an ice making machine due to near total river ice failure. The B and Q O plant will serve customers, with output not intended for retail, producing five tons of ice every twenty four hours.

Special. Sergeant John A Griffin of the ninth cavalry was found guilty of manslaughter for shooting Corporal Herbert Taylor at Fort Sheridan on Christmas 1906. Sentence was deferred.

Dowie Dies This Morning at Zion City Home

Elijah Dowie, founder of Zion City, Chicago, died at 7:40 AM in Shiloh House Zion City after five weeks of decline. Present at death were Judge D. M. Barnes and two attendants. Born May 25 1847 in Edinburgh Scotland, he showed delirium shortly before death. Funeral arrangements not yet announced.
