The Martha Vineyard Street Railway company hauled an old steam baggage car through the town by horse power to save its charter rights. Electric tracks not laid as no location has been agreed on yet.

Fowler a Mason Odd Fellow and longtime South Presbyterian member who served as Jo Daviess County Medical Association vice president and pension bureau examiner. Survived by wife two sons Dr. Charles A. Fowler of Bellevue Iowa and B F Fowler Jr ex attorney general of Wyoming and daughters Almira M. Fowler Anna Rogers and Mrs G T Budrow with brother Dr. H M Fowler in Seales Mound. Funeral Sunday with Masonic honors at burial.
Rock Island, Illinois June 16 The Rock Island ball club of the Western association remains active and will not be disbanded until the Western association meeting at Springfield concludes. The team would have played Ottumwa today but was ordered back after Ottumwa reportedly disbanded. Bloomington plans exhibition games here tomorrow and Sunday.

Proposals due at the spay clerk's office Freeport until 12 o clock June 22 1899. Committee reserves the right to reject any or all bids.
