Harrisburg on January 30 reports the eleventh ballot for senator produced Quay 35 and Jenks with no quorum present to choose anyone. Dover Delaware held its 22nd ballot with no result while Lincoln Nebraska saw no senator chosen and no change in balloting.
Rev. Myron Winslow Reed pastor of Broadway Temple dies in Denver Colorado. Reed served as a captain in the 18th Michigan Infantry during the Civil War and was a prominent state political figure twice nominated for Congress. The report notes his wartime service and political prominence.
