Insane Deed of Farmer Ends in Tragedy Near Carbondale
In Carbondale Illinois on December 31 A J Hemphill and his wife were killed four miles north of town when Hemphill drunkenly dragged her to the tracks and a passing Illinois Central train killed them both. A Soo Line wreck near Minneapolis Minnesota left one dead and several injured several miles north of the city.
