Brakeman Casey Injured in Yard Collision In Madison
Casey a brakeman on the mixed train to Madison was thrown from a ladder onto the ground during switching in Madison Wisconsin yards. He suffered a fractured left shoulder and severe lacerations to both legs. He was taken to his home in Madison street after treatment in Freeport. Conductor Curtin praised for safety awareness and the crew offered thanks that the injury was not fatal.

Two Funerals Today In Town Mortality Remains Silent
The late Daniel Adamson was laid to rest this afternoon with Evergreen lodge of Masons in charge. Rev. Frederick J. Bate officiated at the home on West Street. Pallbearers were E. J. Cronkrite Capt. Wm. Stewart George Graham Theodore Kundinger L. M. Galloway and Louis Dickes. The second funeral, for Frederick Mattert, also occurred this afternoon with Rev. E. E. McKay officiating. Delegations from a benevolent society and the tailors’ union attended. pallbearers were Fred Schumayer Casper Nehus Rudolph Mettler Charles Holmes Nelson Swan and George Leithner. Arthur Border from Orangeville spent last night in jail after pleading guilty in police court to drunkenness. He rode the Plinois Central train with a ticket to Orangeville, became helplessly drunk at Freeport, was carried to the next stop, and finally taken to jail when a conveyance arrived. He had no money but hoped to raise funds.
