Surprise Dinner Plans Ended In Tragedy For Pastor Holke
The St. John Evangelical church flock orchestrated a 30th wedding anniversary surprise for Rev. Holke and his wife last evening. The elaborate plan aimed to honor the couple but instead resulted in their unexpected death, as the pastor was lured to a trap under the pretext of a celebratory event.

Bridal Surprise for St John’s pastor and wife
Henry Althoff and party returned to the parsonage to find St John’s Church lit and filled. The couple was led to two chairs before the altar as the choir sang the bridal chorus The Rose Maiden. After greetings, a rosewood parlor set was presented by the congregation. Feasts followed in the basement with music by Mr. Malkemus and words from Rev Holke and Rev Holz.
