School Board Meeting Ends Quietly in Cold Weather
The May meeting of the borough school board with nine directors present adjourned promptly due to cold. Exoneration of 1899 school taxes on Catherine Ward’s lot was granted and Anna Sensenbach’s papers for a permanent certificate were approved. The finance committee was authorized to settle 1900 and 1901 taxes with Tax Collector Malloy by next Monday evening. Bills approved include Butler Sheldon & Co. for books, J E Griffith for seating work, Freeland Water Co. for water, Electric Light Co. for light, and several minor repairs and election expenses.
