William Jones a former Freeland and Upper Lehigh resident died yesterday at his parents Wilkesbarre home from pneumonia He was 48 unmarried He is survived by his parents a brother Howard of Birkbeck Street and a sister Mrs David Thomids of Upper Lehigh Interment will be in Slatington next Monday

Four Kingston Coal Company workers were behind a loaded car train when a coupling broke near the No 3 slope in Kingston. The derailed cars swept three men to death and a rescuing party recovered the bodies, while Anthony Zeecuer suffered a fatal scalp injury. The dead were Benjamin Davis aged 47, John Micher, and Pater Podio.
Royal Arcanum Freeland Council elected officers for the coming year with past regent B. I. Shelbamar and regent W. R. Flad leading.
