Plans for the Fourth Annual Talent Show at Willard State Hospital move forward with auditions set for April 5 1966 at 6 00 p m in Hadley Hall. Open to anyone 15 or older professional or amateur the event offers 175 in prize money and aims to improve patient recreation beyond the current budget.
A 60 bed male unit will open March 15 at Willard State Hospital serving eight central New York counties. Drs Emanuel Rechter and Adolf Hug lead the unit offering individual and group psychotherapy and recreational therapy. Admission is voluntary after 15 days with four weeks preferred, or involuntary with two physicians certifying need. The Sunnycroft building houses the center and patients may move freely within the ward.
The Red Cross Bake Sale takes place Friday March 1 at the Odomirok Insurance Agency on Main Street. It starts at 11 00 a.m. and lasts until all items are sold. Laura Chapman chairs the event with posters by David Arkland the OCS art teacher.
