Granny dress controversy grips Trumansburg school
In Trumansburg, 14 year old Teddie Bateman and 12 year old Lamona wore granny dresses to Junior High triggering suspensions after they refused to change. The school board reaffirmed a ban on granny dresses and discussed authority over student dress and safety.

Murder Charge Placed After Perry City Death
A former Trumansburg youth, Kenneth Cooper, 19, is charged with first degree murder in the death of Mrs Margaret Chesley at Stillwell Rock. Police allege he attacked her at her trailer to stop her from identifying him after a car theft tied to B and L Motors. Autopsy ordered. Cooperation from multiple agencies aided the investigation.
